What Is an Electrical Riser?

An electrical riser is an electrical distribution circuit mounted vertically in a building.

In the electrical installations of apartment buildings are usually mounted vertically located electrical circuits – electrical risers, which are part of the electrical distribution circuits and to which the floor distribution boards (FBD) are connected.

From the FBD begins the final circuits of the apartment electrical installation, or electrical distribution circuits, by means of which the consumer units are connected to the FDB. The electrical risers are in turn connected to the main switchgear or the main distribution board of the electrical installation of the residential building and are used to supply power to the floor distribution boards.
