How to Convert kW to BTU/hr?
One kilowatt is equivalent to 3412.142 btu per hour. Therefore, you can use a simple formula to make the conversion:
P(BTU/hr) = 3412,142 * P(kW)
Example.
Suppose you have an air conditioning unit that has a cooling capacity of 2.5 kW. You want to convert this value to BTU/hr to compare it to another air conditioning unit that is rated in BTU/hr. Therefore,
P(BTU/hr) = 3412,142 * P(kW) = 3412,142 * 2.5 kW = 8530.355 BTU/hr
