This calculator is an Amps to Volts calculator that allows users to convert Amps to Volts using either Watts or Ohms. The user inputs the number of Amps they want to convert, and selects the type of conversion they want to perform (either Amps to Volts with Watts or Amps to Volts with Ohms) from a dropdown menu. Depending on the selected conversion type, either the Watts or Ohms input field is shown, while the other is hidden.
When the user clicks the “Calculate” button, the calculator performs the appropriate calculation based on the selected conversion type and input values. The result is then displayed in the output field in Volts.
Calculation of Voltage from Amperage
The potential difference denoted by V in volts (V) can be expressed as the quotient of the power P in watts (W) and the current I in amperes (A):
V(V) = P(W) / I(A)
On the other hand, the potential difference V in volts (V) can also be calculated as the product of the current I in amperes (A) and the resistance R in ohms (Ω):
V(V) = I(A) × R(Ω)
For example, suppose we have a circuit with a power supply that delivers 20 watts of power, and a current of 2 amperes flowing through it. Using the first formula, we can calculate the potential difference V as:
V = P / I = 20 W / 2 A = 10 V
Alternatively, suppose we have a circuit with a current of 5 amperes flowing through it, and a resistance of 50 ohms. Using the second formula, we can calculate the potential difference V as:
V = I * R = 5 A * 50 Ω = 250 V
