Amps to Watts Calculator

To use the amps to watts conversion calculator, select the current type, enter the current in amps and voltage in volts, and provide the power factor (a value between 0 and 1) for AC systems. For AC three phase systems, choose between line to line or line to neutral voltage. Click the “Calculate” button to display the power results in watts, kilowatts, and milliwatts in the output section. Click “Reset” to clear all fields and start fresh.

DC Amps to Watts Calculation

P(W) = I(A) x V(V), where

P(W) – power in watts (W);

I(A) – electric current in amperes (A);

V(V) – voltage in volts (V).

Conversion for Single-Phase AC Circuits

P(W) = PF x I(A) x V(V), where

P(W) – power in watts (W);

I(A) – electric current in amperes (A);

PF – power factor;

V(V) – RMS voltage in volts (V).

Conversion for Three-Phase AC Circuits

Calculation with Line-to-Line Voltage

P(W) = √3 × PF × I(A) × VL-L(V), where

P(W) – power in watts (W);

I(A) – phase current in amperes (A);

PF – power factor;

V(L-L) – line-to-line RMS voltage in volts (V).

Calculation with Line to Neutral Voltage

P(W) = 3 × PF × I(A)× VL-N(V), where

P(W) – power in watts (W);

I(A) – phase current in amperes (A);

PF – power factor;

V(L-N) – line to neutral RMS voltage in volts (V).
